Fungai Mapurisa, MSW, received her Master of Social Work from the Brown School in May 2015 and her B.A. in Social Work from the University of Fort Hare in South Africa. While earning her MSW at the Brown School, Fungai worked as a research assistant in the RO Lab and also worked with the City of St. Louis Homeless Services Division in conducting an outcome evaluation for a program targeted at ending chronic homelessness in the city of St. Louis. Fungai is interested in studying the intersection of culture, modernization and oppression in developing and underdeveloped countries. For leisure, Fungai enjoys jogging, hiking and playing tennis.
