Fatherhood Focus Group

HomeGrown StL is conducting focus groups to gather feedback from Black dads in the St. Louis region to design a multiple family group program to provide dads with resources to support their children and families. If you’re interested, click on the link below to register to attend three two (2) hour focus group sessions. You will receive $90 at the conclusion of the third session.

Purpose of Survey
The purpose of the focus groups is to gain an understanding of the needs, how to recruit, and engage Black fathers in the St. Louis region. These focus groups will inform the design of a program for Black fathers and their families.

 

Who can participate?
Black fathers 40 years of age and younger who live in the St. Louis region (City and County) with at least one child 17 years of age and younger.

What do I get for participating?
All eligible participants who complete the form and are enrolled into a cohort will receive $90 for participating in all three two (2) hour sessions.

Purpose of Study

The purpose of the study is to examine perceived barriers and advocacy efforts among service providers in the St. Louis region related to policies that impact their capacity to better serve Black boys and young men in the region. This study has the potential to inform the development of policy and advocacy efforts focused on making Saint Louis an equitable development environment for Black boys and young men, and one of the urban regions with the lowest disparities in social mobility between Black and White males..

Who gets to participate?

  • Practitioners and administrators who work at organizations that provide direct services to Black boys and young men ages 12-29 in the St. Louis region (City and County)

How does this work?

What do I get for participating?

You will not be paid for being in this research study. However, we hope that others may benefit in the future from what we learn as a result of this study.
